25 years ago I was a wedding photographer, and on the side I was a bridal consultant. I worked the wedding scene for many years. Now that my daughter is getting married and my husband and I are responsible for the bill. I wanted to know how much things have changed in the wedding business. Discusses big wedding frills for those on a budget:
The authors hold the view that the wedding industry is a racket, but they buy into the consumer's dream and just give you tips on how to play the game and beat the racket, not leave it behind. Fantastic - LOTS of detail and specifics:
This is now the second "version" of this book that I have bought. It is FILLED with detail and specifics, without sacrificing the over-all "big picture" ideas that you need to keep in mind when planning a wedding. The book works for almost anyone (there is a section for those that live in Canada too!) and I would highly recommend this book to anyone thinking about getting married.
Must have!:
This book is a must have for brides to be. Especially helpful is a rating of bridal gowns by designer. This book has already paid for itself in cost savings!
