great Male to Female VGA extension cable:
??? In this review I was asked to rate 1-5 stars on this product's ease of use and sound quality - i have no idea why, as this is strictly a visual product. Anyway - I use this male to female VGA monitor extension cable to extend another 15' VGA cable which connects my laptop to my 46" LCD TV. I would say I am very discerning when it comes to assessing audio/video quality and still feel the picture is nearly PERFECT. Avoid!:
When using this cable, the image on the screen is so fuzzy as to be unusable for anything but watching instant-view (low-res) NetFlix movies from several feet away. For normal computer use, it'll give you a headache after just a few minute's use. I would not recommend this cable to a friend.
Looks okay with 17" CRT:
I have my old 17" CRT hooked to this running 1024X768 and I don't see any ghosting like the previous review. Actually I have a TV tuner card and the HD looks better on the CRT than my LCD which is an HD display with 6' DVI cable. Even bigger difference watching SD. Haven't tried this cable with the LCD hooked to it, so maybe that is his situation.
Review:
The cable is fine for applications where you have a monitor that is 15" or below and runs in low resolution. If you are planning to run a larger monitor, like most of us do, then this product will not meet your standards. The result of coupling this cable to a 19" monitor running high-resolution are ghostly images. In short pay the 30 - 40 USD to purchase a thicker cable.
