Panavise 809 review:
A very sturdy and versatile CCTV camera window mount. The only gripe I have is that the arm is too short for the type camera I have and the slant of my windshield. I cannot get the entire package to line up at the angle I want. It's not really the products fault nor the camera nor the car. But all 3 combined just don't work well together. The suction is great. I did a few mile test with the camera roof mounted and looking forward. The mount was stable and secure even at speeds around 60 mph.
Very good for the price!:
Purchased this mount for my Canon HF200 HD Camcorder in my car and aircraft. Construction appears very rugged and the suction cup is plenty strong for use on glass and plexi-glass (hopefully that will persist over time too as the plastic ages). There is the slightest of wiggle/wobble when secured; But I think that's inevitable with so much camera mass at end of the mount fulcrum (which, when zoomed-out, doesn't manifest itself in my recordings [which may be result of the image stabilization on the camera]).... more info
Very pleased with the Panavise 809:
The Panavise 809 does exactly what it is supposed to do: It sticks securely to a smooth surface through its large suction cup; It holds you camera steady with little vibration in a moving vehicle and certainly better than handheld; It releases easily and stores with little footprint. One caveat though: My unit did not come with the extension arm pictured in some user reviews. I did call Panavise as some suggested and the courteous Panavise rep told me that the unit does not come with the extension arm but... more info
