Celestron Heavy-Duty Altazimuth Tripod:
It is a good and serviceable platform for my 5" reflecting telescope at a reasonable price.
This tripod is perfect for the C130 Mak:
I bought this tripod for my Celestron C130 Mak telescope. At first I was surprised by the low price, but I decided to try it out. It was shipped promptly and arrived in perfect condition. I took the parts out of the box and I assembled them. I did not need a manual to do this. Everything is pretty much self-explanatory, so anyone with just a bit of common sense will have no problem assembling the tripod. As I mentioned, my telescope is the Celestron C130 model, which is a fairly large scope.... more info
How to use this:
There are two flex rod knobs that are attached to D shaped turning points as seen in the pic. Screw them down tight and there is plenty of movement in two planes ... easily following stars at higher mag.
Telescope Tripod:
The tripod worked very well with the telescope I had purchased. The problem was that most tripods are rather flimsy. I needed a heavy duty tripod for the Celestron scope because it is very heavy. It worked well.
