Pay attention to last photo in the above picture gallery. Search Coil need to be unfolded for testing or usage. Otherwise (in folded position), it will BEEP CONSTANTLY since Search Coil is testing the metal rod. 1. Adjust the dial switch away from the OFF position till the LED indicator lights and a beep sound is heard. 2. Rotate the dial switch backward slightly till the beep sound just disappears - this is the key point to adjust the metal detector into the most sensitive status.
Buzzer sounds and LED lights when metal is detected. Sensitivity: > 8 inch (for a US quarter). It means if the quarter is buried within 8 inches from ground, you can find it.

Good Value:
It's not fancy or full featured; it's not for serious metal detector enthusiasts, but it works well. It's light, compact and easy to carry around and the detector coil is water proof. Fully extended it's about 30 inches long, so an adult will have to bend over to use it, but it's a perfect fit for a child.

I was shipped with a non-functional product. The product definitely is of poor quality. I definitly would NOT recommend anyone to buy this.

NOT GOOD UNIT:
DIDN'T REALLY WORK WELL AT ALL...PROBABLY NEED TO GET A MORE SENSATIVE UNIT TO REALLY DO THE JOB
As advertised:
Pretty much as advertised. Very simple and easy to operate, yet effective. The first day, my boys found a key we'd lost in the yard a year ago. Woo hoo! The only thing to note is, it's pretty short. I bought it for my nine year old and he has to stoop to use it. Got him interested though, so we'll upgrade soon and keep him going. Also, though it's very light, it's fairly sturdy. My boys are tough on equipment and it's held up for a couple months without breaking and that's really pretty good for this price.
