Pretty Nice:

I got my 1 TB for $120 from a local store, best buy, I think.
Works great. I didn't use any built in software. I just use it as a portable device. Extra storage.

No problems whatsoever!!!:

Bought this when it came out for like $120 a few years ago. Thing has been dropped a few times and still lives. I've taken it to do some DJing at a friends house who has Torq (quite a few times) and no problems. Thing is packed with only 100mb of memory left and no problems.
One note, I wasn't sure about the software that came with so I deleted it off the drive, gave me no problems. Plug & play! (FYI, i'm running XP, P4 3Ghz with 2 gigs of ram and an ATI 1 gig 4600 vid card)

Had it for 2 years now, travelled the world with it and dropped it many times...still going strong:

This is not my first WD external drive and it won't be my last. I have had several and they all perform perfectly. This particular drive traveled the world with me; well over 130K sky miles internationally and I have not had any issues with it. It is almost to capacity and no boot issues ever. I have full on dropped it on several occasions, such that I had to re-seat the cover and there is now a tiny bit of the plastic cover rattling around inside and still no issues. Epic Fail:

I've had this hard drive for barely 1 year. It's my secondary backup. 95% of the time it isn't even on. Once a week I plug it in and backup my primary backup. So it only gets used 4-6 hours per week at most. And it's dead already. The power light comes on but all I hear is a faint high pitched beep and the drive itself does not spin up. It worked fine for the time that it did run. But if it's only going to last 1 year of minimal usage it is definitely not worth buying.
