Editorial Review:

Looking for an economical way to stay cool when the outside temperature rises? The NewAir AF-350 portable swamp cooler has you covered. This high-efficiency air cooler is the first of its kind to produce over 500 CFMs of cooling power in such a compact design. Because it harnesses the simple, natural cooling power of evaporation, it costs significantly less to operate than traditional refrigerant-powered air conditioners and is better for the environment. Here's what makes the AF-350 stand out from the competition:
Motor Power: The key to efficient evaporative cooling relies heavily on motor power, and the AF-350 offers more than double that of comparable units in its size range! It offers over 500 CFMs of cooling -- you won't find another swamp cooler that's as compact yet powerful!

Advanced Cooling Pads: The AF-350's advanced TRUE CELLULOSE cooling pads retain a greater amount of water to achieve more cooling in less time.

Extra-Large Water Tank: The 20-liter water tank means you spend less time refilling the tank. For extra cooling power, simply put ice into the unit through the water inlet.

Compact and Lightweight: The AF-350 weighs only 22 pounds but provides plenty of cooling power in one small package!

Remote-Controlled Operation: The AF-350's full function remote gives you the power to change settings without ever having to leave your seat!

NewAir Air-N-Water AF350:

Purchased item the middle of 2008. Due to pleasant weather did not use it until 2009. In 2009 it worked for 2 months then failed. The warranty period was about out but they sent a new unit after I returned the original. It worked for 2 months then failed. They would not return my email or phone calls. I cannot find a source for buying parts if I can determine the problem. It's a couple of hundred dollars down the drain. I should have researched more before buying it. I see on the internet that there are... more info

NewAir AF-350 Swamp Cooler Does What It's Supposed To:

My parents live in Arizona and they constantly complain about the dry heat in the summer. I bought this evaporative swamp cooler for them hoping that it would work (these air coolers aren't really useful for areas with high humidity, but they're supposedly fabulous for really dry places). I had it shipped to my parents and they have been raving about it ever since. It's pretty compact, works really well, and is obviously way less expensive to operate than their central air conditioner. Would definitely... more info

does not cool:

paid over $200 for newair AF-350 evaporative cooler. got it a week or so before our july heat wave, so I did not start using it right away.
when I did start using it, it did not blow cold air when I put unit on "cool". Read owner's instructions and said I may need to put in a teaspoon of dishwater soap or fabric softner for the wick to start absorbing water.
I did this just this past Friday with the dishwater soap and it started working like a champ for that evening and part of saturday. Then it... more info
