I bought this spotting scope to take hunting because it has good specs (objective lens diameter and magnification) at a very good price. I had read the other reviews and was willing to accept the reduced clarity at highest magnifications since they won't be used in hunting anyway. The screw-on pistol grip is an excellent accessory, especially since it's a straight-through scope. you get what you pay for:
I bought this because of the magnification range and the price. It looks cheap, feels cheap, and the front lens rattles. The case is fine but the tripod is pretty weak. I bought a $45 camera tripod at Best Buy to use with it instead. I also read a lot of reviews that said that there is practically no eye relief. All that said, I can still use it, but who knows for how long. I haven't been able to compare it to anything else other than by looking at what other people have and EVERYTHING else looks like it... more info

I bought this scope last week, knowing that my cheap binoculars wouldn't help me sight in my rifle at 50 yards. I was a little skeptical given some of the negative reviews, but when I got to the range I was very impressed. The doodads, as I think another mentioned, are not custom, but still nice. The tripod is pretty cheap, but it works well enough if you don't have the $$ to buy a better replacement. Great spotting scope and it has a higher power zoom than most. Lenses are clear and comparable to much higher end scopes. Cant beat it for the price.
